Documenting events through photography is a time consuming but rewarding opportunity. My first goal is to understand the intent and purpose behind the event. I find that by talking with the organizer I have a clear idea of what to look for and capture.
I have photographed several weddings and parties. I love to take pictures of people 'in the wild'. Here again, the chance to capture people living and enjoying their lives is my favorite view from the camera. I have recently documented two very very different events that I thoroughly enjoyed-
Garden City Community School's - Garden City Alive! - school wide performance
Boise Art Museums 2009 2010 Art in the Park
Boise Art Museum opening of the Gees Bend Quilt Exhibition
Boise Art Museum's visiting artist events - Gees Bend Quilters
Boise Art Museum's opening of the Robots Exhibit
Although public events are time consuming, I find them really fun, like putting together a puzzle that allows you to fully understand the people and the ideas that inspire the event.
